Finding Your Focus Zone:
Students concentrate better in an area that is quiet and comfortable.
Choosing the Right Device:
Doing your class on a computer (instead of a tablet or phone) works best
and allows you to interactive with the material.
Gearing Up for Clear Communication:
Using a headset with a microphone works best for the student to hear the
tutor and for the tutor to hear the student’s pronunciation clearer.
Optimizing Your Technology:
If you work all day on the same computer you’ll use for your English class, restart the computer before you log in to your class.
Mastering Your Connection:
Make sure your browser is up-to-date and for the best experience, we
recommend Chrome. iOS devices will need to use Safari.
Minimizing Bandwidth Competition:
Close out any unnecessary internet tabs.
If possible, connect directly to the router.
If direct connection isn’t available, sit as close to the router as possible.
Depending on your internet provider and speed, your connection may be
affected if other members of the household are using WIFI for live
streaming of movies or video games during the time of your class.
